Advanced VOI
This guide covers advanced VOI metrics: Expected Value of Sample Information (EVSI), Expected Net Benefit of Sampling (ENBS), structural VOI, and more.
Expected Value of Sample Information quantifies the value of a specified study before making a decision. Start with the analytical normal–normal function or use the developing joint normal two-loop model when those assumptions fit and simulation convergence has been checked. Its current, predictive, and posterior calculations use one fitted Gaussian prior. Custom study models use explicit trial-simulation and joint-posterior-sampling callbacks. Other estimators remain compatibility or specialist paths and require validation against a complete study model.
Expected Net Benefit of Sampling combines EVSI with study cost to express the net value of running a proposed research design.
